The National Campaign

The Office of Student Life TP/SS and The National Campaign (www.thenationalcampaign.org) are working to explore issues related to unplanned pregnancy and its effect on young adults. This work is the result of a request by student leadership in 07-08 as they came to realize the scope of the issue through some discussions as the campus and Office of Student Life hosted a panel discussion on this issue. Student leadership said that they wished to have additional opportunities to discuss this and similar issues. MC-Campaign

Please click the campus talk link and help us get your thoughts on the issue. Join us in the work. NCTakoma   Also, see MC TP/SS student on the Community College video - we got STARS!! http://www.thenationalcampaign.org/resources/cc.aspx

Service-Learning

The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education defines the primary mission of Service–Learning Programs as “engaging students in experiences that address human and community needs together with structured opportunities for reflection intentionally designed to promote student learning and development.”  This Office of Student Life is actively engaged in the development and maintenance of a service-learning experiences because they support the student learning objectives for Office programs and extend the mission of the Office into more traditional teaching and learning activities at the campus and the college.
